So last night I went to a concert in the park. Often, these kinds of things are mellow affairs...you know, wine and cheese, you can talk while the music is playing...you get the idea.
Not so last night.
If you have the opportunity to catch NOLA's Big Sam's Funky Nation you would be foolish not to do so. From the second the dummer ignited the match at the beginning of the set until the final snippet of Voodoo Chile, this was a hot show.
1. Killer musicians. All four band members were wonderful and enthused.
2. Killer performers. There was a real show in their show.
3. Audience involvement. You were going to have a good time there unless you were dead...and I could be wrong about that as I personally (to my knowledge) have never been dead and thus have no real freeness of speech there to comment.
Young and old, culture irrelevant...this is a must see live band. Good job, fellas.
